Result | Win for Pilgrims by 9 runs |
The last game of our tour saw us at the picturesque ground of Singleton. Pilgrims won the toss and elected to bat.Lawrence and Nick B opened the batting and started of well before Nick(13) got done by what i can only call a grubber with the score on 43. Josh joined Lawrence and took the score onto 88 before Lawrence(47)was caught.Josh(28) was next to go as he tried to swing across the line and got bowled.Paul H joined Harry R who unfortunately go caught on the boundary with the score on 101.Sam B and Paul swiftly took the score along before Sam(33) after some big hitting was caught.Pilgrims ended on 177-7 after their alloted 35 overs with Paul H on 26 no. After yet another great tea enjoyed by players and families it was Singletons turn to bat. An unlikely opening pair of bowlers in Craig and Nick B saw singleton on 40 after the first 9 overs without any loss although Craig was overjoyed at bowling a maiden.First change bowlers were Sam and Paul H who conceeded just 38 runs and claimed 3 vital wickets Paul (1) and Sam(2). Bradley and Simon were the next change bowlers with Simon G bowling spin. Both claimed a wicket each with Bradley keeping it in the family with Dad Paul tacking a catch of his bowling.Alfie came on at the end claiming a wicket and keeping Singleton to 168-7 and a win for Pilgrims by 9 runs.A big thanks to all our travelling support on tour for all three games and those who managed to get to one of the games including Jacko who came up for the Singleton game. The tour ended on with 3 wins out of 3 and an invite to play in the Horns Fair next year which is a huge honour for the club. |
